State Route 92 near Half Moon Bay, San Mateo County Closed in Both Directions Due to Storm Related Sinkhole on Thursday, January 12

SAN MATEO COUNTY - Caltrans in coordination with the California Highway Patrol has closed State Route 92 in both directions near State Route 35 (Skyline Boulevard) to Pilarcitos Creek Road in Half Moon Bay due to storm related sinkhole.Photo of the storm related sinkhole on State Route 92 in San Mateo. The full highway closure began in the early morning hours on Thursday, January 12, 2023 and will remain in
effect until Caltrans deems the highway safe for motorists to travel.

Caltrans understands this highway closure will impact the daily commute for residents who live in
Half Moon Bay and the other coastside communities.

Motorists are encouraged to use northbound State Route 1 towards the city of Pacifica to access Interstate 280.
