Santa Clara County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform a full highway closure of southbound HWY 85 between Cottle road and Great Oaks boulevard, in the city of San Jose, Santa Clara County. The full closure will begin Wednesday, October 26, at 1 AM. The closures are needed for crews to safely remove and install a new overhead sign structure that crosses the center median to the right shoulder.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone.

Friday, October 28, 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM

Detour route:
- All traffic exit Cottle Road. Go southbound on Cottle Road – Right turn.
- Left turn at San Ignacio Ave.
- Left turn at Bernal Road.
- Right turn back onto the southbound Hwy. 85 freeway.
