Motorists to expect one-way traffic control as road repair project is set to begin on State Route 29 from St. Helena to Calistoga starting at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 6, 2022

Map showing the project area for the State Route 29 road repair project between the City of St. Helena and the City of Calistoga. NAPA COUNTY- Caltrans is set to begin State Route 29 road repair project between the City of St. Helena and the City of Calistoga.

The 7.6 mile section road paving job will be between SR-29 at York Creek Bridge in St. Helena to Lincoln Avenue in Calistoga.

The work will begin overnight on Wednesday, July 6, some of the work will include adjusting some of the utility covers, grind down the road and repave more than 6 miles of asphalt, several sections of old or damaged guardrails and a few traffic signs will also be replaced during this project.

The project will take about three months to complete.

One-way traffic control will be in effect on various sections of northbound and southbound SR-29.

Overnight hours will vary by day/location as follows:

  • From Lincoln Ave.(North limits in Calistoga) to Lodi Lane: 7:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Sunday-Thursday.
  • From Lodi Lane (South limits in St. Helena) to Pratt Avenue: 8:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M., Monday-Thursday and 7:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. Sunday

The road repair will offer an expected service life of 10 years to the traveling public.
