Webster Tube (State Route 61) Overnight Closures
For Maintenance Work July 21 and 22, 2021

ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled full overnight closures of the State Route 61 Webster Tube on July 21 and 22, 2021. The Webster and Posey tubes connect the cities of Alameda and Oakland.

The Webster Tube will be closed overnight both July 21 and 22, with each closure beginning at 10 p.m. and lasting until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. The Posey Tube will remain open.

The purpose of the closures is to accommodate maintenance work. Work will be postponed if it rains.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the sites during the closures.

Vehicles with three or more axles are currently restricted from traveling through the tubes.

Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state’s highways, bridges, and tunnels.
