Northbound State Route 242 (SR-242) in Concord Full Highway Reopened
Roadway Rehabilitation Work Completed Monday, July 19 at 9:45 AM

Contra Costa County - Caltrans has completed its second and final weekend of full highway closures on Northbound State Route 242 (SR-242) in Concord.

Northbound SR-242 was fully reopened on Monday July 19 at 9:45 AM. Caltrans replaced 3,500 linear feet of concrete paving in both lanes #2 and #3 of northbound State Route (SR-242) in Concord.

The work was partially paid for with funds from SB-1.

Senate Bill (SB) 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

SB 1 provides $5 billion in transportation funding annually split between the state and local agencies. Road projects progress through construction phases more quickly based on the availability of SB 1 funds, including projects that are partially funded by SB 1. For more information about other transportation projects funded by SB 1, visit www.rebuildingca.ca.gov.

Caltrans thanks the motoring public for its patience and understanding during the two consecutive weekends of closures , the weekend of July 9 and July 16. which allowed Caltrans to complete major roadway rehabilitation work on northbound SR-242.
