State Route-84 Intermittent Nighttime Full Closures between Palomares Road
and Main Street in Sunol June 1-4, 2021
ALAMEDA COUNTY—Caltrans has scheduled to fully close State Route 84, also known as Niles Canyon Road, between Palomares Road and Main Street in the City of Sunol. There are scheduled intermittent nighttime full closures beginning June 01 through June 04 for soil nail wall construction on the Alameda Creek Bridge Replacement Project.
State Route 84 will be fully closed in both directions between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM for Monday night to Thursday night and between 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM for Friday night. Detours will be in effect, and changeable message signs will be on hand to guide motorists.
Intermittent nighttime full closures between Palomares and Main are scheduled to continue through mid-June. Motorists will be notified of the details on a weekly basis.
Detours:
Motorists traveling from Palomares Road should take westbound Niles Canyon road to Mission Boulevard, then take the onramp to northbound Interstate 680, then take the eastbound State Route 84 exit.
Motorists traveling from Sunol and Pleasanton Sunol Road should take eastbound Niles Canyon Road to southbound I-680, exit on northbound Mission Boulevard, then take northbound State Route 238 to westbound State Route 84.
Motorists traveling from southbound Mission Boulevard (State Route 238) should continue on southbound Mission Boulevard (State Route 238), then take onramp to northbound I-680 and exit onto eastbound State Route 84.
Motorists traveling from southbound I-680 and westbound State Route 84 should continue on southbound I-680 and take the offramp to northbound Mission Boulevard (State Route 238) to northbound State Route 238 to westbound State Route 84.
