I-80 Median Work Requires Closures
in Each direction on Gilman Street in Berkeley
March 26 to April 30, 2021
BERKELEY—Caltrans has scheduled nighttime median work on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Berkeley, Alameda County. The construction work will require lane closures of Gilman Street in Berkeley from Frontage Road to Second Street to accommodate the I-80 work; the work will start today, Friday, March 26, to Friday, April 30.
One lane on Gilman Street, each direction between Frontage Road and Second Street, will be closed each week, Monday through Saturday, from 10 PM to 7 AM. Traffic will be diverted to the remaining two lanes; flaggers will assist motorists with the lane changes.
Work is weather permitting. The lane closures will accommodate the median lighting and barrier replacement to make I-80 safer and smoother for motorists.
