I-580 Oakland Avenue Intermittent On- and Off-Ramp
Closures March-July 2021

OAKLAND—Caltrans has scheduled intermittent overnight single-lane and full closures of the Interstate 580 Oakland Avenue off- and on-ramps in Alameda County March through July to accommodate fence installation near the ramps.

Both eastbound and westbound I-580 on-and off-ramps will be affected. The bulk of the work will not require ramp or lane closures, but when the closures are necessary, they will take place overnight.

Work on the fencing project is expected to begin March 22 and last through the end of July, except in the case of unforeseen circumstances such as rain.

Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to motorists and residents, however, single lanes on local streets may occasionally be closed to accommodate worker and public safety. At least one lane will always be open.

Signs and California Highway Patrol officers will be in place to guide motorists during the closures. At times, minor sidewalk closures will be in place, with signage marking detours.
