Hazardous Tree Removal And Trimming Along State Route 84 In Woodside, San Mateo County
Daytime Work Begins February 8 – 26, 2021

San Mateo County - Caltrans, in coordination with Woodside Fire Department Grant, USFS-SFA Shaded Fuel Break (Fire Hazardous) Tree Removal, has scheduled the removal of 25 eucalyptus and 2 Monterey pine trees, identified as safety concerns along State Route 84 (SR-84) in Woodside, San Mateo County. In order to facilitate the safe removal and trimming of selected trees, SR-84 will be closed to traffic between Portola Road and Fox Hill Road. Work will begin February 8 with 2-3 weeks for completion. Work hours have been adjusted to accommodate local morning commute. New work hours are, Monday thru Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. The highway will be open to motorists outside of posted closure hours. No work performed on holidays or weekends.
Closure Detours:

 Traveling eastbound SR-84 (Woodside Rd), detour at Skyline Blvd (SR-35) turn right on to Kings Mountain Road and back onto SR-84 (Woodside Road).

 Traveling westbound SR-84 (Woodside Rd), detour at Kings Mountain Road, turn left at Skyline Blvd (SR-35) and back on to SR-84 (Woodside Rd).

Motorists are advised to watch for flaggers as traffic control will support crews on scene conducting safety assessments, tree removal, and additional fieldwork. Delays may be expected, and portable message signs are in place to notifying motorists. Emergency vehicles will be permitted access thru the closures.
