Alameda County—Caltrans has scheduled to close various lanes on Interstate 80 overnight between Ashby Avenue in Berkeley and the I-80/I-580 split In Albany starting December 2020 and continuing through the summer of 2021.
All closures will be at night, beginning at 7:00 p.m. and re-opening at 6:00 a.m. the next morning. The purpose of the closures is to accommodate nighttime work building a median barrier that will make travel on I-80 safer for motorists.
Various lanes on both eastbound and westbound I-80 will be closed at different times. At least one lanes will always be open.
Signs and California Highway Patrol officers will be on hand to guide motorists.
