Interstate 80/Interstate 680/ State Route 12 Interchange Project Virtual Groundbreaking Ceremony

Solano County- Caltrans Bay Area and Solano Transportation Authority (STA) will host a virtual groundbreaking ceremony for Interstate 80(I-80), Interstate 680 (I-680), and State Route 12 (SR 12) on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM via Zoom.
Caltrans Bay Area and STA are excited to begin the second phase of the I-80/I-680/State Route 12 Interchange Project, a design responsive to commuter needs for congestion relief, operational efficiency and safety.
“Caltrans listened to the Solano County community and its leaders on this important project and invested accordingly with voter approved SB1 Funds, without SB1 funding, this project would not be possible,” Caltrans Bay Area Director Tony Tavares said.
The project will benefit thousands of motorists who use this interchange on their daily commute every day. Improving the operational efficiency and safety for motorists by enhancing the flow of traffic for commuters and freight to move smoothly from the Bay Area to Sacramento.
“This project will bring economic relief to the Solano County by getting essential workers back to work on this major infrastructure project, and a special thanks to our partners at California Transportation Commission, Caltrans Bay Area, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for helping improve the safety for everyone traveling on this vital stretch of I-80,” STA Board Chair and Vacaville Mayor Ron Rowlett said
