For worker and public safety, during construction, various traffic lanes on SR-29/Sonoma Blvd will be temporarily closed. However, one lane in each direction will remain open at all times. Motorists should also watch for temporary “Tow Away” construction zones and signs along various sections of SR-29/Sonoma Blvd.

EB Interstate 80 to NB State Route 29 Connector Ramp

On September 14, Crews will be closing off the eastbound I-80 to the NB SR-29 Connector ramp overnight. Detour signage will be up while the closure is in place.

Driver Benefits

The project improves roadway safety and provides motorists a smoother ride. This is general pavement repair work on sections of SR-29 that are worn and need attention. A future project will address larger paving rehabilitation in tentatively 2023.

Construction Zone Activity

Residents and businesses may temporarily experience increased noise levels. Motorists should also reduce speeds, drive with caution and watch for construction signs.
