Lane Striping On The I-80 West Approach Of The Bay Bridge In San Francisco
Overnight Rolling Closures
Thursday, August 27 And Friday, August 28 2020
11:00 PM To 4:00 AM

San Francisco – Caltrans has scheduled lane striping work involving overnight rolling closures on the I-80 West Approach of the Bay Bridge.  Work will be taking place for two nights on Thursday, August 27 and Friday August 28 on Westbound I-80 starting at 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM between the off ramps of Fremont (Harrison) Street and Ninth Street.

This work will (re) paint new wider and brighter white lane lines replacing the old Bots Dots, which have been in the process of being phased out statewide over the past year. The Department found the brighter wider lane lines performed better and are easier to maintain than the Bots Dots.

Caltrans regrets any inconvenience as drivers and residents may experience some delays. CHP will be on-site to guide and assist motorists. Drivers are advised to reduce their speeds, plan ahead, and expect delays.  We thank you for allowing us to maintain our state highways and bridges.
