Three Separate Nights Starting On Sunday, August 9
11:00 PM - 5:00 AM
San Francisco – Caltrans has scheduled three (3) separate overnight closures for the Treasure Island off ramp traveling Eastbound I-80 on the lower deck of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge (SFOBB). UPDATE: Crews will be replacing seismic dampers on Sunday, August 9; Monday, August 10; Tuesday, August 11 on all three separate nights from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Additionally, the two left eastbound lanes will be shut down on I-80 from after the First Street on ramp out to the end of the Yerba Buena Tunnel.
The work is part of an ongoing upgrade to 96 seismic dampers on the SFOBB West Span in which the dampers allow the bridge to move in earthquakes. The final 10 dampers are under construction now in the proximity of the Treasure Island off ramp.
