to HOV Lane August 10 through Spring 2021
SUNOL—Caltrans Department of Transportation, with partner the Alameda County Transportation Commission, has scheduled starting August 10, 2020, a modification usage for vehicle requirements and carpool only access on southbound Interstate 680 (I-680) Express Lane in Sunol, Alameda County.
The I-680 lane between State Route 237 (Calaveras Road) and State Route 262 (Mission Boulevard) will be restricted to carpool only, to accommodate construction work such as paving, striping, electrical system upgrades, and other improvements that will synchronize the Express Lanes.
The work may require temporary lane closures on Southbound I-680. All closures will take place overnight between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. Motorists are advised to follow signage.
