ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled an overnight closure of the Posey Tube (State Route 61) for the night of Wednesday, June 24 beginning at 10 p.m. until the following morning, Thursday, June 25 at 5 a.m. for electrical work.

Free shuttle service from Bay Area Shuttle Service is in place for cyclists and pedestrians who normally use the Posey Tube sidewalk. It travels between the Posey ventilation building parking lot in Alameda and the Chinese Garden Park at 275 7th Street in Oakland.  The service can be reached at (510) 401-4657.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the site during the closure.

Detours are as follows:

FROM OAKLAND — Travel south along I-880 and cross the Oakland Estuary via the Park Street Bridge.
FROM ALAMEDA — Travel east to Atlantic Avenue and cross over the estuary at the Park Street Bridge.
