Between San Leandro and Hayward for Lane Striping June 15-20

Alameda County – The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) will continue with the restriping of Interstate 880 between San Leandro and Hayward from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, June 15, through Saturday morning, June 20.

Up to three lanes are scheduled to close as the work will begin at Washington Avenue in San Leandro and continue all the way to Highway 92 in Hayward, with two to five miles completed each night. At least one southbound lane will be open at all times.

During the closures, crews will stripe new lane configurations on I-880 between the far- left HOV lane and the adjacent general-purpose lane. The work will result in significant changes for drivers in the I-880 corridor. Striping will include double white lines, dashed lines and new merge lanes.
