for Maintenance Work June 2 and 3
Alameda County — Caltrans has scheduled two full closures for the Posey Tube (State Route 61) for overnight work to perform tunnel maintenance. The Posey Tube will be closed the nights of Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 3. Both closures will begin at 10:00 p.m. and end at 4:30 a.m.
A free shuttle service is in place for cyclists, pedestrians and the general public who normally use the Posey Tube sidewalk. The shuttle travels between the Posey ventilation building parking lot in Alameda and in front of the Chinese Garden Park at 275 7th Street in Oakland. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes,
24/7.
Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message and directional signs are in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the site during the closures.
Detours are as follows:
FROM OAKLAND — Travel south along I-880 and cross the Oakland Estuary via the Park Street Bridge.
FROM ALAMEDA — Travel east to Atlantic Avenue and cross over the estuary at the Park Street Bridge.
