Caltrans would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we completed the critical U.S. 101 Alemany Circle Deck Replacement project. Detours have been removed and both Northbound and Southbound 101 are now open to traffic.

As you may know, construction for the project was originally scheduled to take place during three weeks in July 2020.  But because of lower traffic volumes due to the state-wide shelter-in-place order, our team quickly and proactively re-evaluated the U.S. 101 Alemany Project for an advanced construction schedule.
By performing this work in April, while peak travel demand has been reduced 40 to 60 percent, Caltrans was able to complete this vital infrastructure project with less delay for drivers and minimize the need for local traffic detours.

Thanks to the support of our stakeholders and neighbors like you, we were able to work around the clock to complete this project in just 9 days. Caltrans would like to thank the essential workers, first responders and our partners for enabling the accelerated completion of the U.S. 101 Deck Replacement Project in San Francisco.

Special kudos go to the CHP and SFMTA, as well as the San Francisco residents and businesses directly impacted by this critical construction work; we are particularly grateful for your collaboration and patience. Please note there will be night time lane closures for final clean-up work.
