Southbound U.S. Highway 101 opened to through traffic this morning. A procession of California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers on motorcycles ushered in the onslaught of waiting vehicles at 7 AM this morning. Both sides of the bridge deck have now been demolished and reconstructed. The Caltrans contractors will re-open the Northbound deck of U.S. Highway 1010, the last closed lane on the U.S. 101 Southbound deck, and city street detours, along with Alemany Boulevard on Saturday, May 2, 2020 by 3 PM.

City street closures and detours will also be lifted at 6 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2020. This includes access to Alemany Farmers' Market. Local residents and businesses are reminded that once the Alemany bridge reopens, small but active construction activity projects will continue over the next few weeks.

Please continue to drive with caution through all construction zones.
