Overnight Closure of Southbound US Highway 101

as Alemany Circle Deck Replacement Project Work Continues - Sunday, April 26

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will implement an overnight closure of Southbound (SB) U.S. Highway 101 tonight – (Sunday, April 26, 2020) at 9PM until 6AM the following morning (Monday, April 27, 2020). The closure will reroute SB 101 traffic onto Interstate 280 while work is being done to create a temporary detour that will place SB 101 traffic onto the recently reconstructed NB 101 bridge by Monday morning traffic. NB 101 will continue to detour into NB 280. SB 101 traffic is being shifted onto NB 101­­ to allow the SB 101 Alemany bridge deck to be reconstructed. The first lane is expected to open at 6AM.  Motorists should expect delays.

Detour Options - Diverted 280 traffic can use the following exits to navigate throughout local areas:  

  • Alemany Blvd
  • Geneva Ave
  • 380 to route back to San Francisco

Traffic Controls Measures:

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area.
Rumble strips are being to ensure speed reduction and safety.
Please drive with caution the construction zone - Slow for the Cone Zone.
