Alameda and Contra Costa Counties – Effective today, Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the #4 westbound bore of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) in Oakland and Orinda will be temporarily closed for one night of tunnel maintenance work.
The #4 westbound bore will re-open at 4:30 AM Thursday, April 23. All other bores, including the other westbound bore, will remain open to traffic.
Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
