Between (NB) Vermont and Cesar Chavez in San Francisco
Overnight Slab Replacement
Through End of April - Expect Delays

(San Francisco) - Caltrans is performing emergency overnight roadwork on southbound U.S. 101 between northbound Vermont Street and the Cesar Chavez exit in San Francisco. This is in the vicinity of San Francisco General Hospital and the related “Hospital Curve” landmark.

Crews are replacing multiple concrete slabs on an elevated section of U.S. 101.

Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 P.M. - 5:00 A.M. through the end of April.* Concrete demolition, removal, and pouring will necessitate the overnight closure of three (3) out of four (4) traffic lanes on southbound U.S, 101 overnight. Some on and off ramps may also be affected with partial closures. This work will address the needed roadway repairs due to constant wear and tear. Once completed, residents and motorists will benefit from a safer, smoother drive.

Motorists should drive with caution in construction zones and watch for construction signs overnight.

Caltrans regrets any inconvenience and thanks residents and motorists for their patience as we work to maintain our state’s highways.

*Caltrans is monitoring the work and will make appropriate adjustments as necessary
