Caltrans To Remove Two Diseased Elm Trees

(One-way traffic control will be in place during maintenance hours)

(St. Helena)- Caltrans has scheduled a one way traffic control on State Route 29 just north of St. Helena within the elm tunnel beginning on April 6 to April 10,2020. Crews will be performing regular tree maintenance including removing two elm trees that are infected with Dutch Elm Disease and have become a safety concern.

For worker and public safety, crews will need to close temporarily one southbound lane on SR 29 from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on April 6 to April 7. Crews will than switch to the northbound lane of SR 29 from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on April 8 to April 10. Crews will have one-way traffic control in place during maintenance hours on SR 29.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while driving in this area.
