Eastbound State Route 24 (Caldecott Bore #1) – Full Tunnel Closure For Tunnel Lighting Maintenance Starting Tuesday, January 28 until Thursday, January 30
Oakland/Orinda– Caltrans will conduct a two-day tunnel closure of the Eastbound (EB) State Route 24’s (SR-24) Bore #1 of the Caldecott Tunnel to preform tunnel lighting maintenance in the Cities of Oakland and Orinda, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The nightly closure will begin Tuesday, January 28, from 10:00 PM until 4:30 AM Thursday, January 30, weather permitting. If it Rains, closures will be rescheduled for a later date.
Closure Information is as follows for 1/28 & 1/29
- EB SR-24 (Bore #1): Full Closure begins Tuesday, January 28, from 10:00 PM until 4:30 AM Wednesday, January 29.
- EB SR-24 (Bore #1): Full Closure continues Wednesday, January 29, from 10:00 PM until 4:30 AM Thursday, January 30.
Traffic Controls Measures:
Changeable message signs and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Please follow posted detour information. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
