Solano County – The State Route 220 (SR-220) J-Mack Ferry returned to service the afternoon of Tuesday, December 17 after Caltrans mechanics repaired a problem with the ferry’s hydraulic system.07-16-2019-84-real-mccoy-ferry-july-update-map

The J-Mack went out of service in September for repairs and federally mandated Coast Guard inspections. It returned to service December 12 but developed mechanical problems. Caltrans mechanics diagnosed and repaired the engine problem and the boat went back into service December 17.

The Delta’s companion ferry, the SR-84 Real McCoy II, is currently out of service. The Real McCoy could return to service by late January.

The Real McCoy provides service to Ryer Island and its visitors by crossing the Cache Slough in Rio Vista. Its dock has been repaired and modernized and the ferry is presently undergoing repairs.

Caltrans appreciates motorists’ patience as we work to maintain the ferries.
