between Daly City Border and Holloway Avenue Caltrans will pave at night between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM

San Francisco – Caltrans will begin paving a one-mile section of State Route 1 (SR-1) in San Francisco between the Daly City border and Holloway Avenue beginning Monday, December 9, 2019, at 10:00 PM.  Paving will be done between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM to prevent congestion that would occur during daylight hours.

Caltrans will begin work on southbound SR-1, paving every night, including weekends, as weather permits. (Asphalt will not bind during rainy or excessively cold nights). Work will take about two weeks, including allowances rainy days.

Work crews will return in early January to pave northbound SR-1, which will also take about two weeks to complete.
As part of the same project, Caltrans will also repave SR-1 between Lincoln Way and Presidio Parkway near the approach to the Golden Gate Bridge. That work that is tentatively scheduled for March 2020.

The project also includes replacing drainage systems and upgrading over 40 curbs ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The portion of SR-1  between Holloway and Lincoln Way will be paved by Caltrans after the City of San Francisco finishes sewer replacement and traffic signal projects in that location. Work is scheduled for 2022.
