Northbound/Southbound Interstate 880 Full Highway/Lane Closures To Remove Unused Natural Gas Pipeline by Pacific Gas & Electric Company Starts Saturday, November 9 until Monday, November 11, 2019
Newark - Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) will be removing an unused natural gas pipeline that runs through the City of Newark and under Interstate 880 (I-880). There will be full highway and lane closures on Northbound (NB) I-880 at Mowry Avenue on Saturday, November 9; and Southbound (SB) I-880 at Thornton Avenue on Sunday, November 10 in the City of Newark, Alameda County.
Closure Information:
NB I-880 at Mowry Avenue: Saturday, November 9, starting with a lane closure at 9:30 PM, and a full highway closure from 2:00 AM until 5:00 AM Sunday, November 10.
SB I-880 at Thornton Avenue: Sunday, November 10 starting with a lane closure at 9:30 PM, and a full highway closure from 3:00 AM until 6:00 AM Monday, November 11.
Detour Details:
NB I-880: Exit at Mowry Avenue continuing north to Blacow Road, turn north/west onto Blacow Road and continue to Thornton Avenue on ramp to enter onto NB I-880 to continue travel.
SB I-880:Exit at Thornton Avenue continuing south to Cedar Boulevard, turn south/east onto Cedar Boulevard and continue to Mowry Avenue, turn north onto Mowry Avenue on ramp to enter onto SB I-880 to continue travel.
