Van Ness Avenue Construction Forecast: December 2, 2019 - December 13, 2019

Those traveling on the corridor are advised to stay alert and allow more travel time during construction. Polk Street, one block east of Van Ness Avenue, is a recommended alternative for people traveling by bicycle in the area.

At times, Muni bus stops along Van Ness Avenue and its side streets need to be relocated to perform construction for the Van Ness Improvement Project. You can stay up to date about bus stop changes along the project area, and the rest of the city, by visiting the SFMTA’s Temporary Stop Relocations Map. The map marks the original location of any relocated stop. When you click on the stop’s marker, you will find additional information including a description of where the temporary stop is now located and the duration of the relocation.

Tentative schedule:

In the next two weeks crews are scheduled to work on sewer and water main installation, installing a joint-utility trench, sidewalk work, roadway work, installing light poles and potholing for upcoming work.

The work listed below is scheduled for daytimes, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Planned night work is italicized. The night shift for construction is 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. During this time, neighbors are advised to anticipate construction-related noise and vibrations as crews work diligently to complete necessary night work.
