Daily Daytime Closures Started Monday, October 7 until Friday, October 18 from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM

Oakland – Caltrans has implemented daytime closures eastbound and westbound on Interstate 580 (I-580) in Oakland, Alameda County to remove dead, dying, diseased or structurally deficient trees, Monday through Friday. Project started Monday, October 7 and will be completed at this location Friday, October 18, between 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM, tentatively. Closure Location & Schedule Monday through Friday – 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM:

WB I-580 – Monday, October 7 until 3:00 PM October 8 (35th Ave to Grand Ave)
EB I-580 – Wednesday, October 9 until 3:00 PM October 18 (SR-24 connector to I-680 connector)
Intermittent ramp closures within existing lane closures that crews are working

Traffic Controls Measures:

Changeable message signs and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Please follow posted detour information.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone, leave a safe traveling distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you, and Slow for the Cone Zone.
