At the Tulucay Bridge September 13-14, 2019

(Napa)—Caltrans has scheduled to close one lane on Soscol Avenue (State Route 121) in each direction at the Tulucay Bridge in Napa overnight September 13-14 for lane re-striping. One lane will always be open in each direction during the temporary lane closure.

One lane in each direction on the bridge is scheduled to close at 10:00 PM Friday, September 13, re-opening at 7:00 AM Saturday, September 14. The purpose of the closure is to create a space between the northbound and southbound lanes on the bridge to accommodate the next stage of repair work on the bridge (see map below).

Motorists should expect lane configuration to change in the northbound direction and should take care driving through the work zone. Temporary concrete barriers will be placed around the work area between the northbound and southbound lanes.

All four lanes on the bridge will generally remain open during the work, with short exceptions like the temporary overnight lane closure described above. Pedestrians should use Gasser Street and Kansas Avenue to access either side of the work area. Signs are in place to indicate the pedestrian detour.

There will be a speed reduction in the work area from the posted 35 mph to 25 mph. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and observe the reduced speed limit.

Caltrans appreciates motorists’ patience while we work to improve the Bay Area’s highways, bridges and tunnels.
