Eastbound Interstate 580 – Scheduled Maintenance
Beginning August 23, 2019
Richmond – Caltrans will implement full nightly closures of Stenmark Drive on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 580 (I-580) for scheduled maintenance beginning Monday, August 23, 2019. This closure will require motorists traveling eastbound I-580 to detour across the Richmond-San Rafael bridge and return eastbound I-580. This closure will allow workers to complete maintenance that includes cleaning and painting operations to undercrossing.
Nighttime Closure Information:
- Monday, August 26 thru Friday, August 30 from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- No closures on the nights of August 30 or September 2 (Labor Day)
- Tuesday, September 3 thru Friday, September 6 from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7 from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM
- Monday September 9 thru Friday September 13 from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM
Detour:
Traffic from Stenmark Drive heading toward eastbound I-580 will need to cross the Richmond- San Rafael bridge, exit Main Street and re-enter the Richmond-San Rafael bridge in the eastbound direction.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Please drive with caution through the construction zone, and Slow for the Cone Zone. California Highway Patrol will be on site during night closures.
