State Route 84 Real McCoy Ferry To Return To Service
(Solano County—The State Route 84 (SR-84) Real McCoy Ferry is scheduled to return to service in September after repairs to the ferry and its docks were completed.
The Real McCoy will return to service in two stages. Starting Wednesday, September 4, the ferry will run from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM. On Saturday, September 7, the ferry will go into service at 5:00 PM, remaining in service until 5:00 AM Monday, September 9.
Then, the Real McCoy will run from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM from Monday, September 9 through the morning of Saturday, September 14. Starting at 5:00 PM September 14, the Real McCoy will return to full service.
Under the full-service schedule, the ferry departs every 20 minutes on the hour, 20 minutes after the hour and 40 minutes after the hour, 24 hours a day.
The Real McCoy provides service to Ryer Island and its visitors by crossing the Cache Slough in Rio Vista. Its dock has been repaired and modernized and the ferry has undergone repairs.
The Delta’s companion ferry, the SR-220 J-Mack Ferry, is currently in service. However, it is scheduled to go out of service starting September 4 for repairs and federally mandated Coast Guard inspections. The J-Mack could be returned to service by late November, depending on the progress of repairs and inspections.
