For Safety Work Between Rio Vista and Fairfield August 5-8

(SOLANO COUNTY)—Caltrans has scheduled intermittent 10-minute closures of both lanes of State Route 12 (SR-12) in various locations between Rio Vista and Fairfield in Solano County August 5-8 for safety work.

The 10-minute closures will take place between approximately 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM and will start Monday, August 5 at Drouin Drive in Rio Vista, concluding Thursday, August 8 at Lambie Road in Fairfield.

Small stretches of one to two miles will be closed for ten minutes at a time, and CHP officers will be on hand to hold traffic for about 10 minutes as workers replace damaged or missing yellow safety poles in the center of the roadway.

The yellow plastic safety poles, known as channelizers, are safety features. They stand three feet tall and are spaced 25-50 feet apart on the roadway to keep cars from passing on the double line.

Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience as we work to keep the highway safe.
