As Roundabout Construction Moves Forward

(NAPA)—Caltrans is planning to remove the traffic signal light at the intersection of First Street and California Boulevard in Napa as early as August as part of construction on one of three roundabouts west of downtown Napa.

When the signal light is removed, California Boulevard at First Street will be closed, re-opening by late December. Detours will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and exercise caution during the road closure.

Caltrans will provide details to the public as soon as additional information is available. The removal of the signal light is part of ongoing construction of three roundabouts planned west of downtown Napa, with the work expected to conclude in 2020.

Work on the first of the three roundabouts began June 19, necessitating the closure of the northbound First Street onramp to northbound state Route 29 (SR-29). The work is proceeding on schedule, and the northbound First Street onramp is expected to re-open in the fall.
