Project Benefits

Purpose

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate and extend the pavement service life by

  • Addressing existing pavement in fair and poor condition.
  • Bring shoulders to current standard.
  • Upgrade existing guardrails and end terminals that are not up to current standards.
  • Upgrade roadside sign panels and striping to meet current standards.

Need:

The existing pavement exhibited 8.77% Alligator B Cracking in 2019 according to the 2019 Pavement Condition Summary Report (PaveM). The pavement is projected to exhibit 30.07% Alligator B Cracking in 2028. The International Roughness Index (IRI) is expected to increase from 186 inches/mile in 2019 to 213 inches/mile in 2028. The existing pavement will deteriorate further in the absence of a Roadway Rehabilitation Project.
