State Route 20 Stafford Way Intersection Safety Improvement

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In Yuba City, at the intersection of Stafford Way, this project will install a traffic signal, intersection lighting, curb ramps, and pavement delineation. This project will reduce the number and severity of collisions.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this project is to improve safety for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians at the intersection and to reduce the number of serious injury collisions occurring at this location.
 
NEED:
The intersection reported a total of 33 collisions in a three-year period (July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020), involving 28 injuries. The total actual collision rate at this intersection is higher than the statewide average for similar facilities.
 
FUNDING:
This project is programmed in the 2024 SHOPP and is funded in the 20.XX.201.010 Safety Improvements Program.

Capital Cost: $2,870,000
Total Project Cost: $4,910,000

Design Completed: June 25, 2025
