Project Description:

Caltrans is planning a safety improvement project to install a traffic signal at the intersection of County Road P and State Route 32 (SR 32).

Purpose
The goal of this project is to enhance safety for motorists and reduce the number of fatal and serious injury collisions at this currently two-way stop-controlled intersection.

Need
Between June 1, 2016, and May 31, 2021, the intersection recorded 13 collisions, including one fatality and eight injuries. The total actual collision rate at this location is three times higher than the state average for similar intersections, highlighting the need for safety improvements.

Funding

This project will be included in the 2022 State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP) and will be funded through the 20.XX.201.010 Safety Program.

Total Project Cost: $4,800,000.
