Inquiry #5:

Two questions on the Construct Communication System (Contract No. 01A6677) documents, ahead of the October 14, 2026 2:15 PM quote date.

1. Reference: Special Provisions Sections 5-1.38, 6-1.02 and 10-1.03 (pages 8, 9 and 18).
Section 10-1.03 states that "Road 830 is maintained by Jackson Demonstration State Forest and is typically closed to motorized vehicles from October 1 to June 1 each year," and Section 5-1.38 states "The Engineer will only consider a request for relief of maintenance and protection responsibility if the Engineer has suspended the work under Section 8-1.06." Section 6-1.02 has the Contractor pick up the Department-furnished controller cabinets in Willits.
Please confirm the Contractor bears theft and vandalism loss to stored materials, the Department-furnished controller cabinets once picked up, and installed Work at the Road 830 site until Contract acceptance, including any period the road is closed to motorized vehicles.

2. Reference: Price Quote Proposal for Unit Items (DOT ADM-1509), Items 2 and 13.
The Bid Item List carries Item 2, 130100 Job Site Management (LS), and Item 13, 034264 Communication System (LS), with no item for construction site security.
Please confirm whether the Department would consider a separate bid item for construction site security at the Road 830 site.
