Inquiry:
1. Looking at the project plans, on sheet E-1, I noticed the single RRFB sign is hardwired to the RRFB system at the crosswalk. These systems can connect via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for this wire and pull boxes. Is this permissible?
2. We've previously installed RRFB systems mounted on wooden posts and the ground rod shown on sheet ED-1 wasn't needed, due to bluetooth pairing. If FBIC isn't necessary, may this ground rod and grounding be eliminated as well?
Response:
1. The RRFB and advance flashing beacon shown on E-1 need to be hard wired to ensure system reliability. RRFBs shown on E-2 and E-3 will be connected via Bluetooth. Bid per contract documents.
