Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.
Here is the breakdown for next week:
SR 20 Projects:
- Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Conservation Road and Shake Hill Road. One-way traffic control is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, August 3, through Wednesday, August 5, and from 6 a.m. to noon Thursday, August 6.

Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project
- At the junction with Interstate 80, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6.
- The SR 20 on-ramp to westbound I-80 remains closed until further notice due to bridge construction activities.
SR 49 Projects:
- Maintenance Crack Seal Operation southbound between Empire Street and McKnight Way. Various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, through Thursday, August 6.
- Corridor Improvement Project between McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows/Allison Ranch Road. One-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, August 2, to 6 a.m. Monday, August 3, and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, August 7.

Sidewalk Gap Closure Project
- Southbound between Edgewood Road and Nevada Street, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. Sunday, August 2, to 2 p.m. Monday, August 3, and from 9 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 2 p.m. Friday, August 7.
- At Lincoln Way, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. Sunday, August 2, to 7 a.m. Monday, August 3, and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, August 7.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials, or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
