State Route 20 Traffic Impacts in Yuba City
Construction Continues on Stafford Way Intersection Safety Improvement Project

YUBA CITY – Caltrans is reminding motorists of ongoing construction activities along State Route 20 (SR 20) at the Stafford Way intersection in Yuba City as work continues on a $4.91 million safety improvement project.

Motorists can expect daytime lane closures Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. weekdays. One lane will remain open in each direction during construction. Travelers should anticipate 5 to 10 minute delays and should allow additional travel time through the project area.

Construction activities scheduled over the next several weeks include:

• Installation of electrical conduit and foundations for the future traffic signal system
• Construction of new sidewalks, curb ramps, and curb and gutter improvements
• Median curb construction and roadway improvements
• Landscaping and finishing work

The project will improve safety at the intersection through the installation of a new traffic signal, intersection lighting, upgraded pedestrian facilities, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements. The project completion date is scheduled this fall. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
