Temporary Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for Tomorrow

BUTTE COUNTY – Caltrans maintenance crews are scheduled to perform guardrail repairs in Chico this weekend, requiring temporary lane and ramp closures along southbound State Route 99 (SR 99) to State Route 32 (SR 32).

Work is scheduled for Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect reduced lanes in the work area, possible delays during peak morning hours, and crews and equipment working near live traffic. Drivers are advised to slow down, follow posted signs, and allow extra travel time.

Location & Closures
Southbound SR 99 on-ramp at East Avenue
o Lane #2 closed from East Avenue to Cohasset Road Exit
Southbound SR 99 on-ramp at East 1st Avenue
o Lanes #2 and #3 close from East 1st Avenue to SR 32 Exit
o Lane #1 will remain open through this stretch

During construction, motorists should expect intermittent lane closures, reduced speeds in work zones, and minor delays. Most work will occur at night to minimize traffic impacts. Lane closures for the project are prohibited during the day and restricted between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, and between 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Caltrans will provide advance notice of traffic impacts and work schedules as construction progresses.
