Sacramento – US 50 16th Street On-Ramp Closure for Joint Seal Work

Caltrans District 3 crews will perform joint seal installation at the 16th Street on-ramp to eastbound US 50 this weekend. The work requires demolition, placement of the joint seal assembly, curing, and final clean-up before the ramp can safely reopen.

Closure Schedule:
9 p.m. Friday, January 9 through 5 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026

Suggested Detour:

  • Continue east on X Street
  • Take the X Street on-ramp to eastbound US 50

Motorists should expect delays, stay alert in work zones, and follow advance signage. Extra travel time is encouraged.

This work is part of the $511.1 million US 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement “Fix50” Project, which will rehabilitate pavement and add 14 miles of high-occupancy lanes from the US 50/I-5 interchange to the US 50/Watt Avenue interchange.
