Yolo County - Caltrans is advising motorists of nightly construction work for U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) in West Sacramento to change the westbound highway configuration beginning tonight through the weekend.
Two westbound lanes will remain open during the nightly construction. Due to the limited width of the lanes and shoulders and to ensure safety for workers and motorists, the construction work will require closing one lane. Workers will be relocating k-rail and removing temporary striping.
Motorists are reminded that the construction zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in Yolo County on US 50 to I-80 in West Sacramento and onto Davis.
SCHEDULE and LOCATION:
- Nightly lane and ramp closures from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. tonight through Sunday (11/20-11/24 Monday, 4 a.m.) on westbound US 50 to westbound I-80 in Yolo County.
The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment and/or material availability, or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
The department will issue construction updates on X @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans’ QuickMap or download the QuickMap app from the App Store or Google Play.
