Placer County - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) as several projects continue in Placer County.
Here is the breakdown for next week:
- Southbound between Dry Creek Road and Bell Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, July 27 through Wednesday, July 30.
- Southbound between Luther Road and Fulweiler Avenue/Elm Avenue, various lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, July 28 through Thursday, July 31. Work is scheduled to end for the week by 7 a.m. Friday, August 1.


Safety Barrier Project
- Northbound between Lorenson Road/Florence Lane and Lone Star Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 28 through Saturday, August 2.
- Northbound and southbound between Rio Oso Road/Overhill Drive and Lorenson Road/Florence Lane, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, July 21 through Thursday, July 24. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, July 25.
- Southbound between Lone Star Road and Lorenson Road/Florence Lane
- Various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 2.
- Southbound SR 49 will be reduced to a single lane until further notice at the intersection with Lone Star Road and Lorenson Road/Florence Lane.
- Southbound between Lone Star Road and the south fork of Dry Creek, various lane closures are scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, August 1 to 5 a.m. Saturday, August 2.
An extended lane reduction is scheduled along both directions of SR 49 at Lorenson Road/Florence Lane from 7 a.m. Friday, August 1 through 6 a.m. Monday, August 4. The intersection with Florence Lane will be closed during this time.
The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety. Motorists may experience delays between 10 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic volumes. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
