Yolo County - Caltrans is alerting motorists of a scheduled 55-hour closure of the Reed Avenue off-ramp from May 30 through June 2 as part of the ongoing $280 million Interstate 80 (I-80) and U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) Pavement Rehabilitation Project in Yolo County.
The off-ramp closure in West Sacramento going toward IKEA on eastbound I-80 is scheduled from 9 p.m. Friday, May 30 through until 4 a.m. Monday, June 2. The department urges motorists to plan, expect delays and use the designated, signed detour routes using Reed Avenue from east- and westbound US 50.(see map).
Motorists who miss the detour will need to continue eastbound on I-80 and exit at West El Camino Avenue and turn around onto westbound I-80 back to Reed Avenue.
The extended ramp closure for pavement replacement work will help to minimize the duration of the project and improve workers’ safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
This project includes $47 million from Senate Bill (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. SB 1 provides $5 billion in transportation funding annually, shared equally between state and local agencies.
Road projects progress through construction phases more quickly based on the availability of SB 1 funds, including projects partially funded by SB 1. Visit build.ca.gov to learn more about transformative infrastructure projects happening in communities throughout the state.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
