Yolo County - Caltrans is alerting motorists of an upcoming extended ramp closure for the ongoing Yolo Interstate 80 (I-80) Pavement Rehabilitation Project beginning on Friday, April 18.
Continuing construction work will include a closure of the eastbound I-80 connector ramp to eastbound I-80 toward north Sacramento and Roseville to construct approach slabs. Caltrans urges motorists to plan for additional travel time and to expect delays.
Scheduled Closure And Location:
- 9 p.m. Friday, April 18 to 4 a.m. Monday, April 21
- Eastbound I-80 connector from the Yolo Causeway to eastbound I-80 toward north Sacramento and Roseville and the Enterprise Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound I-80.
Detour:
- From west of the City of Davis to the Sacramento International Airport (SMF), use eastbound I-80 to State Route 113 (SR 113) north to Main Street (EXIT 37) to the southbound Interstate 5 on-ramp and continue to SMF.
- From Yolo County to north Sacramento and Roseville, continue eastbound on I-80 to eastbound U.S. Highway 50 (US 50). Take north I-5 Redding (EXIT 4A) and continue north to the eastbound I-80 Reno (EXIT 522).
The work zone is from the Yolo Causeway through West Sacramento on I-80 and US 50. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7 for the safety of workers and motorists. Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather conditions, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction-related issues.
The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
his $280 million project includes $47 million from Senate Bill (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. SB 1 provides $5 billion in transportation funding annually, shared equally between state and local agencies.
