Sacramento - Work on the U.S. Highway 50 (US-50) “Fix50” Multimodal Corridor Enhancement Project will require a 55-hour closure of the Stockton Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 7) on westbound US-50 this weekend.

The Stockton Boulevard on-ramp to westbound US50 will remain open.

The closure is scheduled from Friday, March 7 at 9 p.m. through Monday, March 10 at 5 a.m.

The closure is required to replace approach slabs at 39th Street and to rehabilitate the off-ramp by replacing the current asphalt pavement with new concrete on the off-ramp.

Detour:

Take the off-ramp to eastbound Capital City Freeway (Business 80), take exit 71 to N Street, turn slight left to N Street, turn left to Capitol Avenue, turn left to 29th Street, take the eastbound US-50 on-ramp to South Lake Tahoe, take the 34th Street exit, turn left to 34th Street.

The ongoing work is part of a $529 million project to rehabilitate pavement and add 14 lane miles of high-occupancy lanes from the US-50/Interstate 5 interchange to the US-50/Watt Avenue interchange.

For more information on this project visit U.S. Highway 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement and Rehabilitation Project.

Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area. The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials, and construction related issues.
