FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento - Caltrans is continuing with work on the U.S. Highway 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement “Fix50” Project, which will include a two-week closure of the Riverside Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound U.S. 50, starting on Monday, August 12 at 9 a.m. and scheduled to finish on Monday, August 26 by 9 a.m.

Because this work will reconstruct the ramp, it will require demolition and a multiple number of construction operations with various subcontractors. Caltrans does not anticipate heavy dust or noise impact to nearby city streets.

Detour signs will direct traffic to the 16th Street/X Street eastbound U.S. 50 on-ramp.

The ongoing work is part of a $483.5 million project to rehabilitate pavement and add 14 lane miles of high-occupancy lanes from the U.S. 50/Interstate 5 interchange to the U.S. 50/Watt Avenue interchange.

Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area. The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement.

For more information on this project text “Fix50” to 74121 or visit www.Fix50.com. Caltrans encourages the public to follow construction updates on X @Fix_50 and Facebook @Fix50.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials, and construction related issues. For current road conditions use Caltrans’ Quick Map at quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ or download the free Quick Map app on the App Store or Google Play. Motorists also can call the California Highway Information Network automated phone service at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).
